About this event

This virtual class focuses on performing DAAT techniques to overcome active resistance with their weapon drawn. Officers make high risk arrests routinely with their weapon drawn, and are forced to defend themselves against unarmed attacks that may not meet the definition of deadly force. This class demonstrates how to perform DAAT techniques to help officers defend themselves in such circumstances. These techniques were also part of the instructor updates in Wisconsin DAAT from 2019-2020, that SAC Poller helped develop (this class does not qualify as an official DOJ instructor update). Attendees are encouraged to actively participate in the virtual class, and perform the techniques as they are being taught live. Open to all law enforcement officers.

Benjamin Poller has been in law enforcement for 26 years, serving the last 21 for DCI and is currently a Special Agent in Charge. Relevant experience includes DCI Statewide Tactical Team for 12 years, firearms instructor, DAAT and Room Clearing instructor for DCI. Has been a part time instructor for Madison College for 17 years as a DAAT instructor, firearms instructor and specialized training in tactics and ground fighting. Also sits on the Statewide DOJ Tactical Advisory Committee, and is an Master DAAT Instructor for Madison College.

Confirmation of CE hours will be sent to registrants in attendance.
